Prologue
Okay. You are about to embark on my life (yes, that is cheesy, I know). It may get pretty graphic, so I'm just warning you. My whole life has been graphic, really. Except for this past year.
Oh, sorry. I'm leaving you with an untold part, aren't I? A really big untold part.
Alrighty, then. My name is Samantha. Call me Sam. I'm a fifteen-year-old mutant. I lived in a cage for fourteen of those years. Okay, not really a cage, more like a prison cell. Yeah it was a prison cell. I don't have any special powers or anything. Well, if you exclude the fact that I can Shapeshift into thee creatures. I can turn into any combination of them, so take note of that. My three other forms are: a white wolf, a snowy owl, and a dove. All three are white, and when I morph into those forms, I'm much bigger than the creature if it was natural. Other than the fact I can turn into animals, I'm pretty normal I think
My best friend in the whole world is also my only friend. His name's Storm. He's a lot like me, only he can turn into a raven, a black wolf, and a black panther. You could call us two complete opposites. While I'm happy and cheerful (most of the time), he's dull and reticent. Despite his name, he can't really cause storms. Black hair and icy eyes, tall, lean form he's probably the greatest guy anyone would ever come across. I remember being kept in a cell with him, how he'd always growl when someone would take me away for testing, and how he'd hover over me when I'd cry about the newest awful experiment preformed on my frail body.
He's protective, I give him that. Protective and undoubtedly sweet.
We're alone up here on our cliff we've come to call home. The bad Shapeshifters haven't found us yet, and I doubt they would if we stay on the east side of the mountain. Very rarely do we make trips into the city, or any town for that matter. We're kind of like Tarzan and Jane, except we skate the skies, not the trees.
And, hey! If we ever get lonely, we can always talk to the birds! You know, if we don't scare them off by our humongous size.
